NYC

Your eyes change colors from the never ending flashing of lights

The expressions on your face expose people’s mistakes

They push and they shove, bumping shoulders along the way

With not a care in the world as to who is coming their way

From a turn to a shake, you blink and everything seems to fade away

You keep them close for a second too long and miss the moment where you became one of them

In fear of losing me in this crowded state, you take my hand and lead the way

I look back at the beautiful chaos as you pull me towards your chest to conceal my face

I look up at you and I don’t see the flashing lights that once changed your eyes

We lose ourselves in the moment and I no longer feared of what was ahead

Standing in the middle of the concrete jungle, trying to figure how to escape this mess, we started walking leaving behind our trace
